A Youth Management Trainee town hall, 14 speakers, in the room and live-streamed to Teams.
The challenge
As part of a fantastic youth management trainee scheme within DHL, a town hall style event was to be held.
The brief:
- Remote attendees joining via Teams (live stream element)
- 40 to 50 in-person attendees
- 14 speakers over 1 hour
- Online audience needed to see presenters, room, and PowerPoint deck
- Security policy prevented network connection for live stream
- Steel building with no data network availability
The solution
Early planning involvement enabled coordination with the client’s head of IT for a dedicated, secure internet connection supporting the live streaming computer.
Audio setup
- Lapel (lavalier) microphones for 14 speaking participants
- DPA4088 microphones specified (see DPA4088 lav mic hire)
Lapel mics provided hands-free presentation and eliminated the “pass the mic game,” helping presenters feel more comfortable.
Outcome
“Because of the planning the client and I put in, and the subsequent correct set up, those attending the meeting on teams saw and heard the whole event, no glitches.”
